FAQ

Chris Field's Field Repair specializes in woodwork (decks, stairs, rails) and general handyman needs—with clear communication and tidy job sites.

  • Where do you work?

We're based in Kingsland, GA and regularly serve a 100-mile radius including Jacksonville, FL. We also take scheduled services in Vail, CO. Availability is seasonal and subject to local permitting/licensing; travel fees may apply.

  • What types of services do you take on?

Woodwork (specialty): decks, stairs, railings, pergolas, gates, exterior trim.

General repairs: doors & hardware, fascia/soffit repairs, fence fixes, minor drywall, caulking, light fixture swaps, and punch-lists.

Note: We only perform tasks allowed without a trade license; otherwise we coordinate a licensed subcontractor and remain your single point of contact.

  • Do you use subcontractors? How are they vetted?

Occasionally—for licensed trades or specialty finishes. We use trusted pros vetted for quality, responsiveness, and insurance. We supervise their work and remain your single point of contact.

  • How do estimates, pricing, and deposits work?

Estimates: Free. Small jobs can be priced from photos/video; larger builds usually need a site visit.

Pricing: Half-day/full-day rates for small tasks; fixed-bid proposals with clear scope for larger services.

Deposits: Typical materials deposit plus a scheduling deposit; exact amounts depend on scope and jurisdiction and are specified in your written proposal.

Change orders: Documented and approved before work continues.

  • Who buys materials? Can you help me choose?

Either works. We can source and deliver (transparent receipts; logistics markup disclosed), or you can purchase directly.

We'll help you compare durability, maintenance, and cost (e.g., PT lumber, cedar, composites).

  • How do you protect my home and clean up?

We use drop cloths, floor protection, ladder pads, and dust control as appropriate, and we tidy daily.

Exterior work includes fastener sweep and debris haul-off unless you'd like to keep leftovers.

  • What work do you not perform?

We don't do full re-roofs/structural roofing, major HVAC/plumbing overhauls, gas lines, or hazardous abatement. We do not disturb lead-based paint or asbestos; we'll refer a certified specialist if those conditions are present.

  • How do I get started?

Send photos, rough dimensions, address, and your target timeline to fieldjrchris59@gmail.com or text 912-540-7921.

We'll confirm scope, provide an estimate, and get you on the schedule.

This website is general marketing information and not a contract. Final scope, schedule, price, and warranty are defined in a written proposal. Services are offered only where properly licensed/registered and insured. Testimonials reflect individual experiences; your results may vary.
